The Indian Air Force (IAF) has opened registration for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 under the government’s Agnipath Scheme, giving young unmarried Indian men and women the chance to serve in the Air Force for a fixed four-year term.

Candidates can apply online at iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in. The application window runs from January 12, 2026, to February 1, 2026, at 11:00 PM. Applicants should register early to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Exam Dates and Application Fee

The online written examination for Agniveervayu recruitment will be held on March 30 and 31, 2026, at centers across the country.

Candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 550 plus 18% GST online during the application process.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027, candidates must:

  • Be unmarried Indian men or women
  • Be born between January 1, 2006, and July 1, 2009
  • Not exceed 21 years of age at the time of enrollment

In terms of education, applicants should have:

  • Passed Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and English, or
  • Passed Class 12 in any stream, or
  • Hold a diploma or vocational qualification

How to Apply

Candidates can follow these steps to submit their application:

  2. Register using a valid email ID and mobile number
  3. Verify the OTP sent to email and phone
  4. Log in with the generated user ID and password
  5. Fill in personal and educational details
  6. Upload required documents, photograph, signature, and thumb impression
  7. Pay the application fee online and submit the form

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in three stages:

  • Stage 1: Online written examination
  • Stage 2: Physical efficiency test, adaptability test, and document verification
  • Stage 3: Medical examination

Admit cards for the online exam will be released 48 to 72 hours before the examination date.

Service Period and Salary Benefits

Selected Agniveervayu candidates will serve in the Indian Air Force for four years. The initial monthly salary is Rs 30,000, with annual increments during service.

After the four-year term, eligible candidates will receive a service fund of about Rs 10.04 lakh.

Up to 25 percent of Agniveervayu personnel may be absorbed into the regular Indian Air Force cadre, based on performance and organizational needs.
