HI, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS ALEJANDRA MELGOZA DEL CASTILLO IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I’m Alejandra melgoza, an actress, storyteller, and creative based in Los Angeles. At my core, I’m someone who believes in the power of art to transform, to connect, and to heal. Whether I’m acting, creating content, or exploring new forms of expression, I’m always guided by curiosity, emotional truth, and a desire to make people feel less alone.

YOU’VE DESCRIBED YOURSELF AS A STORYTELLER AT HEART. WHAT DRAWS YOU MOST TO CHARACTER-DRIVEN ROLES, AND HOW DO YOU PREPARE TO BRING THEM TO LIFE?
I’m drawn to roles that allow me to explore the human condition, characters who are messy, vulnerable, and real. My process often starts with empathy: understanding not just what a character does, but why.

For me, storytelling is about transforming my own emotions into something universal.

BEING RAISED IN MEXICO AND NOW WORKING IN LOS ANGELES, HOW HAS YOUR BICULTURAL BACKGROUND SHAPED YOUR IDENTITY AS BOTH AN ACTRESS AND A CREATOR?
Growing up in Mexico gave me such a deep appreciation for family, culture, resilience. Bringing that with me to Los Angeles has allowed me to merge two worlds, my roots and my present. It gives me a unique perspective, especially in bilingual and multicultural storytelling. I carry both identities proudly and I think it allows me to connect with a wider range of audiences.

YOU’RE VOCAL ABOUT CAUSES LIKE MENTAL HEALTH, ANIMAL WELFARE, AND EMPOWERING YOUNG WOMEN. HOW DO YOU INTEGRATE ADVOCACY INTO YOUR ARTISTIC JOURNEY?
I believe art and advocacy go hand in hand. Sharing my own journey with mental health, for example, has allowed me to connect more authentically with my audience. My love for animals inspires the compassion I bring into my work and lifestyle. And as a young woman in the entertainment industry, I feel a responsibility to show others that you can pursue your dreams without compromising who you are.

FANS LOVE THE GLIMPSE OF YOUR PERSONAL WORLD, ESPECIALLY YOUR TWO PET DONKEYS! HOW HAS THAT UNIQUE PART OF YOUR LIFESTYLE INFLUENCED THE WAY PEOPLE CONNECT WITH YOU?
I think sharing that part of my life makes people see me in a more genuine, unexpected way. The donkeys always make people smile and remind them that my world isn’t just acting and social media— it’s also about grounding, nature, and simple joys. And I love that it sparks more conversations that feel more human and real.

YOU’RE CURRENTLY EXPLORING MUSIC WITH PIANO AND BASS GUITAR. WHAT ROLE DOES MUSIC PLAY IN YOUR CREATIVE EXPRESSION, AND DO YOU SEE IT BECOMING A BIGGER PART OF YOUR CAREER?
Music is such an intimate part of my creative process, it’s how I regulate my emotions and find inspiration. Playing piano and bass allows me to explore rhythm and vulnerability in a way that complements acting. I don’t know yet if it will become a major part of my career, but I do know it will always be part of my artistry.

WITH A GROWING AUDIENCE ONLINE, HOW DO YOU STRIKE A BALANCE BETWEEN SHARING AUTHENTICALLY AND KEEPING PARTS OF YOUR LIFE PRIVATE?
I’ve learned that balance is everything. I want people to feel like they’re connecting with the real me, but I also honor my boundaries. I share my passions, my values, and parts of my journey, but I also protect certain relationships and experiences so they stay sacred. That balance keeps me grounded while still letting me inspire and connect with others.

LOOKING AHEAD, WHAT KIND OF ROLES, PROJECTS, OR COLLABORATIONS WOULD BE A DREAM FOR YOU AS AN ACTRESS AND MULTI-HYPHENATE CREATIVE?
I’d love to take on charcater-driven films that explore psychology and transformation— stories that make people think and feel deeply. Collaborating with directors and studios who value authenticity and artistry, like A24 or Neon, would be a dream. And I’d also love to be a part of shaping stories from different angles, whether that’s through collaborating, developing, or exploring new creative roles in the future.

YOUR INSTAGRAM BIO CALLS YOU AN “EMOTIONAL ALCHEMIST.” WHAT DOES THAT PHRASE MEAN TO YOU, AND HOW DOES IT REFLECT THE WAY YOU APPROACH ACTING AND STORYTELLING?
To me, “emotional alchemist” means transforming raw emotion— pain, joy, love, loss— into art that can move others. Acting is about channeling emotion into something that resonates beyond myself. That phrase is a reminder of what I do every day: take something intangible and turn it into an experience that can heal, inspire, or awaken something— whether in my daily life or in the audience.

WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
I think people are often surprised to learn how spiritual and introspective I am. Beyond the pink, girly aesthetic, I spend a lot of time journaling, meditating, and studying personal growth, and I often attend spiritual and meditation retreats to recharge. That inner work is what fuels my creativity.
