Risilience has named Angela Brown as its new Chief Executive Officer. Founder Andrew Coburn will become Chairman and will keep guiding the company’s long-term scientific and strategic direction.
The company says this change marks its next phase of growth, as more businesses want to better understand climate risk, supply chain issues, and economic uncertainty.
Brown joined Risilience as Chief Product Officer 18 months ago and has played a key role in shaping the company’s technology and AI-focused product roadmap. During her time in the role, the company says it doubled its client base while expanding the capabilities of its risk analytics platform, Riise.
Before joining Risilience, Brown worked for almost 20 years in financial services and fintech, holding leadership roles at S&P Global and Moody’s.
Speaking about the transition, Brown said businesses are now moving beyond asking whether climate and nature risks matter and are instead focusing on how to respond to them in ways that protect long-term business value. She added that Risilience plans to continue investing in AI-driven analytics and advanced modelling tools to help companies make clearer strategic decisions.
Risilience started as a spin-out from the Cambridge Centre for Risk Studies at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. It now works with companies like Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Burberry, Reckitt, and Barclays as a climate risk and resilience partner.
Coburn said the leadership change is meant to sharpen the company’s focus and speed up growth. He said Brown’s understanding of technology and client needs makes her well-suited for the role.
