Young actress and model Ariana Baker has her sights set firmly on the entertainment industry.
With a love for acting, modeling, fashion, and meeting new people, Ariana describes herself as ambitious, outgoing, and determined, three qualities she hopes will help take her from her early experiences as a performer to major opportunities in film, television, and modeling.
After attending iPOP!, Ariana is ready to build on that experience and continue taking steps toward the career she wants.
Finding Her Place in Entertainment
Ariana’s interest in performing began with a natural love of creativity and being in front of an audience.
“I’ve always loved being creative and performing in front of people,” she says.
That passion eventually expanded into both acting and modeling, giving Ariana different ways to express herself. While acting allows her to step into new characters, modeling connects naturally with another of her interests: fashion. Her decision to attend iPOP! came from wanting to take those interests further.
“I wanted to gain experience, meet industry professionals, and grow my career.”
The experience gave her an opportunity to do exactly that, while also introducing her to other performers and giving her a closer look at the entertainment industry.
Big-Screen Ambitions
When it comes to acting, Ariana isn’t afraid of a challenge. Her ultimate goal is to book a major film or television role that gives her the opportunity to stretch herself as a performer and explore an interesting character. And if Hollywood called tomorrow? Ariana would choose horror.
“I’d choose a horror movie with an amazing character.”
It’s a genre that could allow her to explore heightened emotions and a very different side of herself as an actress. Ariana also admires Ariana Grande, whose success across both music and acting has made her an inspiration.
Ready to Learn
One quality Ariana believes will serve her particularly well in entertainment is her ability to adapt.
“I’m a quick learner and adapt easily.”
It’s an important strength in an industry where performers are constantly being asked to take direction, learn new material, enter unfamiliar environments, and adjust quickly. Although she doesn’t currently play a sport or instrument, Ariana says she’s always willing to try something new and add to her skill set. Away from performing, she enjoys listening to music, traveling, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, fashion. She also has a love for animals and enjoys helping others. One thing that won’t be making it onto her list of new experiences anytime soon? Frog legs.
Believe in Yourself
Ariana credits both her mother and Ariana Grande as important inspirations in her life, but ultimately, she knows that pursuing an entertainment career requires believing in herself. Her personal message is straightforward: “Believe in yourself and never give up.”
It’s also the advice she would give to another young person who may be nervous about pursuing a dream.
“Don’t be afraid. Believe in yourself and go for it.”
Ariana has already begun putting that philosophy into practice, working to develop her acting and modeling career and putting herself in environments where she can learn, grow, and be seen.
What’s Next for Ariana?
Over the next year, Ariana has one major goal, to book a significant acting or modeling opportunity. She hopes iPOP! will prove to be another building block toward that goal as she continues gaining experience and pursuing new opportunities. Most importantly, she wants people to remember the qualities behind her ambition. Hardworking. Determined. Passionate.
