The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), or UP Board, has released the provisional list of 7,448 examination centres for the 2026 Class 10 and Class 12 exams. The list is available online for students, parents, and schools to review and raise objections if needed.
This year’s proposed exam centres are fewer than in the previous two years. For the 2025 board exams, 7,657 centres were announced online, compared to 7,864 in 2024. The total usually increases after the objection and verification process.
Breakdown of the 7,448 Proposed Centres
According to the UP Board, the examination centres include:
- 910 Government Schools
- 3,484 Aided Institutions
- 3,054 Unaided Schools
The list has been prepared using the basic information of schools verified by tehsil-level committees. It has now been published on the official UP Board website, upmsp.edu.in, for public scrutiny.
Objections Accepted Until December 4
UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh said the District Centre Determination Committee, led by the District Magistrate, will examine the proposed list. Anyone with concerns or objections, including students, parents, principals, and school managers, can submit complaints online.
Objections must be sent in the prescribed format with valid proof. The last date to submit objections is December 4, 2025. After this date, no further representations will be accepted.
This year, the board introduced a specific format for submitting objections, making the process more transparent and structured.
Review Timeline
The process for finalising the exam centres will take place in several steps:
- By December 11: District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) will review objections and upload the revised list.
- By December 17: Updated list will be available online.
- Until December 22: Further objections to the revised list will be accepted.
- By December 30: Final list of exam centres will be uploaded.
Centre List Likely to Increase
Historically, the number of exam centres increases after objections are resolved. For example:
- In 2025, the online list increased from 7,657 to 8,140 centres.
- In 2024, the count rose from 7,864 to 8,265 after verification.
The same trend is expected this year.
In Prayagraj, the board has proposed 258 exam centres, making it one of the major hubs for UP Board examinations.
With the provisional list released, students can check their nearest exam centres and stay updated with official timelines as the board prepares for the 2026 examination season.
