The company Skims has promoted Tracy Nguyen to Chief Communications Officer (CCO), reinforcing its executive leadership team as the global shapewear and lifestyle brand continues its rapid expansion.
In her new role, Nguyen will retain responsibility for the company’s global communications while also assuming broader duties in entertainment, sports, and brand partnerships. She will also continue to act as Co-General Manager of NikeSkims, aiding in the formulation of the strategic direction of one of the company’s most closely watched collaborations.
Nguyen will also be in charge of Skims’ global brand collaborations, cultural activations, and partnerships with celebrities, talent, and sports figures. The enlarged role shows that the company is placing increasing emphasis on establishing stronger links between fashion, entertainment, and popular culture.
Nguyen has more than 25 years’ experience in the fields of fashion, beauty, entertainment, and consumer brands; she became Executive Vice President of Communications and Entertainment at Skims in 2024 after previously holding the position of Chief Brand Officer at KKW Brands, where she worked closely with Kim Kardashian, the co-founder of Skims, on a number of business ventures.
Nguyen has also co-founded Industry Public Relations and has held senior leadership posts at People’s Revolution, 5W Public Relations, and Sunshine Sachs, which has established her as one of the most respected communications executives in the industry.
Kim Kardashian, who is the Chief Creative Officer and co-founder of Skims, praised Nguyen for his long-standing relationship with the company in the announcement of the promotion.
“Since she acted as a trusted advisor to me throughout the entire range of my brands—when Skims was still just an idea—until she took on a formal executive position with Skims, Tracy has been an exceptional partner and leader,”Kardashian stated. “She has a fundamental understanding of the brand—knowing how to protect it, how to grow it, and how to present it to the correct audiences at the right times. The fact that she has been promoted is a clear indication of the trust that both Jens and I place in her strategic and creative abilities.”
NguyeAI n conveyed her thanks for the opportunity and expressed her appreciation to Kardashian and Jens Grede, CEO of Skims, for placing their trust in her leadership.
She said that she was very thankful to Kim and Jens for their trust, leadership, and partnership. Since Skims has already shown what is possible and there is so much more to come, she could not be more excited about carrying on with the development work alongside their highly talented team.
The announcement of new leadership comes at a time when Skims is experiencing substantial global growth. Earlier this month the brand opened its first standalone UK flagship store on Regent Street in London, together with its first flagship store at the Dubai Mall, which is another achievement in its international expansion strategy.
As Skims keeps on growing from being just a shapewear brand into one that is well known around the world, Tracy Nguyen’s broader responsibilities as a leader highlight the company’s dedication to improving its communications strategy, establishing high-profile partnerships, and increasing its influence in the areas of fashion, entertainment, and sports.
