SSC CGL 2025 to Begin on September 12: Key Details for Candidates

SSC CGL 2025 to Begin on September 12

The Indian Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the allotment of exam cities for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025 Tier 1.

These exams are scheduled to take place between September 12 and 26, 2025, with Paper 1 and Paper 2 being held on different days or in various shifts.

Candidates can expect the SSC CGL Tier 1 admit cards to be released soon on the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in.

According to the Commission, approximately 93% of candidates have been assigned exam centers based on their first, second, or third preferences indicated in their applications. The remaining candidates have been assigned to centres in nearby cities, with an average distance of approximately 168 km from their home addresses.

This year, a total of 2,814,604 candidates have registered for the SSC CGL exam, which will take place at 260 centres across 129 cities in India. Candidates must check and download their exam city slips from ssc.gov.in by logging in with their registration number and password.

Just to let you know, the exam city slip is distinct from the admit card. While the admit card allows candidates to enter the exam hall and take the test, the city slip is useful for planning travel and accommodation in the allotted exam city.

Only candidates who qualify for Tier 1 will be eligible to appear for Tier 2 of the CGL examination. This recruitment drive aims to fill Group B and Group C positions in various ministries, departments, and organisations under the Government of India.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official SSC website for updates on admit card releases and other important notifications to ensure a smooth exam experience.
