SSC Recruitment Process Getting Faster with New Changes

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is making big updates to speed up its recruitment process. Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced in the Rajya Sabha that the time it takes to hire candidates has dropped significantly, from 15-18 months to just 6-10 months.

One of the major changes is reducing the time for exam notices from about 45 days to just 21 days. Other measures include transitioning from paper-based exams to computer-based ones, reducing the number of exam stages, and eliminating descriptive papers (except for the specific Hindi translator exam). The interview stage has also been removed to make things quicker.

To further enhance efficiency, the SSC has introduced an online e-dossier system. This system helps manage candidate files digitally, allowing for faster checks and approvals by government departments. Each file is assigned a unique number to ensure its security and authenticity.

Since 2022, the SSC has also been conducting exams in 13 regional languages, in addition to Hindi and English, to support candidates from diverse backgrounds.

These new changes are expected to make it easier and faster for candidates to go through the recruitment process, ultimately helping more people find jobs quickly.
