HELLO LEANA GANESH, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! WHAT GOT YOU INTO ENTERTAINMENT THAT MADE YOU REALIZE THAT IT WAS YOUR CHOSEN PATH?
With lots of potential and a huge personality my mom first discovered me. Why? Because I am beautiful and unique. When I was about 2 years old, I would always grab everyone’s attention in the house to perform some kind of silly shows, having my grandparents cheer me on and introducing me, which is why I always feel like a celebrity. I love having the attention and showing my talent. Moving forward I will role play with my brother in all sorts of scenes, watching movies and videos is something I am very interested in and love paying attention to every character, following up going to school and being part of drama clubs, I then realized I have what it takes to become an actor in real life!
WHAT KIND OF TRAINING HAVE YOU RECEIVED SO FAR AHEAD OF IPOP!?
I receive monthly training and bootcamps from NYLA Talent and iPOP! including how to slate, doing improvisation, rehearsing my monologue and commercials. I work with Connor Weil who is always so fun and easy to work with. I gain so much more from these training which make me much more confident.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE ROLES / CHARACTERS YOU’VE BEEN INVOLVED IN?
My favorite role is being the main character. I was the lead in the play the “Secret Village”, it was the last drama club show I did last year. It was super fun to act, and my drama teacher was so talented. The story came along as planned and everyone enjoyed the show!
WHAT ACCENTS AND DIALECTS CAN YOU DO?
I can do a Guyanaese accent because my parents are from Guyana, in South America. I visited Guyana three times. I celebrated my seven birthday in Guyana. I quickly adapted to their accent; it is a super funny way to talk and I loved it!
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE PROJECTS THAT YOU TYPICALLY PREFER?
I would prefer TV. I would describe TV projects as very interesting, fun and educational, inspiring and much more also for it to send a strong message.
HAS THERE BEEN ONE PARTICULAR MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE SO FAR THAT YOU’RE MOST PROUD OF?
So far, yes! When I did my first audition and was on cold feet to receive a call back my mom told me you got this and right after I did receive a call back then my parents took up the opportunity to sign me up. I was so proud of myself at that moment because I knew they believed in me.
WHO ARE SOME CELEBRITY INFLUENCES THAT YOU ASPIRE TO?
Some celebrity influences are Jenna Ortega, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Sophia Vergara, Angelina Jolie, Reagan Revord, and Anne Hathaway.
IF YOU HAD ONE MESSAGE TO GIVE TO YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
One message to give to myself is that I have the potential to do anything and a positive saying I really love is ‘Never give up.’
WHAT IS ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
Kind is one word which speaks volume about me.
WHAT IS ONE FOOD YOU WILL NEVER EAT?
I will never eat pork!
DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS OR INSTRUMENTS, IF SO, WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE?
Yes, I play a little volley ball in school and I play the piano as well.
WHAT IS YOUR THING TO DO WITH YOUR FRIENDS?
Things my friends and I do is hang out at recess and play. Meet up for meetings in student council which we get to assist with projects for the school.
HAVE YOU SET ANY 2026 PROFESSIONAL GOALS TO ACHIEVE?
My 2026 professional goal is to become a lead actress in a hit movie. That’s my biggest goal!
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR ATTENDING IPOP!?
What I am most excited for iPOP! is for the experience, being heard and seen as I showcase my talent and making new friends in the industry.
