Los Angeles has long been a magnet for artists chasing their artistic breakthrough, but every so often, a voice arrives that feels both refreshing and inevitable. One such voice is Muskaan Deol, a singer-songwriter who is emerging as one of LA’s most compelling new artists, blending honesty, vulnerability, and cinematic soundscapes into music that resonates far beyond the city she now calls home.
Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Muskaan started singing when she was 9, and through the years, music for her became a way to convey emotions which she couldn’t express out loud. She did her vocal training and completed 8 grades of Trinity College London’s Rock & Pop exams.
Music wasn’t just a hobby for her, it was the one place she felt most understood. Every emotion had a sound, every experience became a story, and as she got older, that quiet childhood passion evolved into a deep, unshakeable calling to create, to express, and to turn her inner world into something others could feel.
She then got accepted to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy’s Musical Theatre Program in New York. At the age of 18, she left her home in Mumbai to pursue her dreams in a completely new country, driven by nothing but passion, courage, and a belief in what her artistry could become. New York became her training ground, a place where she sharpened her craft, learned discipline, and discovered just how deeply she wanted to tell stories through music and acting. The move wasn’t easy, but it marked the beginning of her transformation from a girl who loved music to an artist determined to build a life around it.
After 2 years of living in New York she moved to Los Angeles to continue her training and graduated with a BFA in Performing Arts from the AMDA College of the Performing Arts, LA in June 2025. It was in the city of lights that her music career truly started when she released her debut song followed by releasing more music.
Her debut song “ In Your Arms, I Overdose” is a pop song that takes place in a summer starry night. The track blends vulnerable vocals with atmospheric production. The song explores the passionate pull of love, which feels magical and surreal. It sets the tone to her musical identity of unapologetically being her true self.
She released her 2nd song Medusa shortly after releasing her debut. Medusa is an alternative-indie / dark pop song which explores the themes of feminine rage and justice. It is written from the point of view of Medusa if she were alive in today’s generation.
She is currently working on her new songs, an EP, and she is planning to do a music concert in LA. With her new upcoming projects, Muskaan is determined to strengthen her artistry and create art that speaks to her audience.
