Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh urged students, parents, and teachers to make use of the science and technology scholarships offered by the Modi government. He spoke at the opening of the new Kendriya Vidyalaya in Ramkot, Kathua.
Dr. Singh pointed out that more government programs now support innovation and help young people develop their talents early. He said these efforts help students be creative, think scientifically, and get ready for careers in research and technology.
INSPIRE-MANAK for Students Aged 10–17
The Minister encouraged parents to apply for the INSPIRE-MANAK scheme, which gives a ₹10,000 grant to selected students. The program aims to support innovation, spark curiosity, and help children with good ideas.
INSPIRE Scholarship (SHE) for Young Science Aspirants
Dr. Singh also talked about the INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) for students aged 17 to 22. This program gives ₹60,000 a year to top undergraduate and postgraduate students in basic sciences, with ₹20,000 set aside for mentorship. He said this support helps India build its next generation of scientists and researchers.
Vigyan Jyoti for Girls in STEM
Dr. Singh stressed the value of the Vigyan Jyoti Scheme, which helps girls in Classes IX to XII. The program offers mentoring and academic support, especially for girls who want to study science and technology, where women have often been underrepresented.
A Boost for Education in Ramkot
The Minister said the new Kendriya Vidyalaya will give children in Ramkot and nearby areas better access to quality education. It will also help the children of security personnel posted in the region by providing stable and continuous schooling.
Student Talent on Display
Before the ceremony, Dr. Jitendra Singh visited an art exhibition by KV Ramkot students. The artwork featured themes from several central government programs, such as:
- ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ under Swachh Bharat
- ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, which promotes cultural understanding between states
The event included a guard of honour by NCC and Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers, as well as cultural performances by the students. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause.
