Kim Kardashian recently shared how tough and emotional it was to prepare for the California bar exam. In a video on Instagram, she gave fans a real look at her last two weeks before the test, showing the stress, long study hours, and moments when she doubted herself.
Kim revealed that she did not pass the exam, but made it clear that she is not giving up on her dream of becoming a lawyer.
She wrote, “On November 7th, I found out I didn’t pass the bar. It was disappointing, but it wasn’t the end. This dream means too much to me to walk away from, so I’m going to keep studying, keep learning and keep showing up for myself until I get there.”
The video starts with Kim sitting on her bed in tears, then goes back to show everything she did in the two weeks leading up to the test.
She spent months studying, cancelled all her work calls, and focused on being a mom and getting ready for the exam.
The California bar exam is one of the hardest in the country. It includes:
• five one-hour essay questions
• one 90-minute performance test
• 200 multiple-choice questions
Kim spent her days going over case law, working with professors, and practicing essays and logic questions. She said she was so focused on studying that she even dreamed about losing points during the exam.
Preparing got even harder when she developed back pain and disc problems from sitting and studying for so long.
“There were days when I felt like I was finally moving forward, and then something happened to pull me back,” she said in tears. “A part of me just wants to stop, but I have so much more to do.”
Staying Focused Despite the Pressure
With her four children on vacation, Kim used the quiet time to study as much as she could.
The day before the exam, she felt confident and ready.
“My body feels good. I feel prepared,” she said, hoping her hard work would pay off.
But on November 7, the same day as the premiere of her new Hulu series All’s Fair, Kim learned she had not passed the bar exam.
She reacted with honesty and humour, writing, “I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV.”
Determination to Try Again
Despite the setback, Kim says she is more motivated than ever.
She shared a message of hope with her followers:
“Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up. Failing short isn’t failure, it’s fuel.”
She also thanked everyone who has supported her, saying she was very close to passing this time, and that has pushed her to continue.
Why Becoming a Lawyer Matters to Kim
Kim’s passion for law stems from her late father, Robert Kardashian, who was part of O.J. Simpson’s legal team. Over the years, she has been involved in criminal justice reform, helped free wrongfully imprisoned people and used her platform to bring attention to social justice issues.
Balancing her legal studies with her businesses and public life has been tough, but she says the goal is worth it.
The Journey Continues
Even though she didn’t pass the exam this time, Kim Kardashian has made it clear she’s not giving up. Her video showed fans the real, unfiltered side of chasing a tough dream, and her message of resilience has inspired many.
She plans to keep studying and will try the exam again.
As she said, “I have one shot and I’ll shoot my shot. I’ll make it.”
