Bihar Class 12 Board Exams 2026 Begin With Tight Security Across 1,762 Centres

The Bihar School Examination Board will start the annual Class 12 exams on February 2, 2026. Over 13 lakh students will take the exams at 1,762 centres across the state, making it one of Bihar’s biggest academic events. Security will be tighter than ever before.

The Board has put in place strict monitoring, law enforcement, and clear entry rules to make sure the exams are fair and free from cheating.

Official data shows that 13,17,846 students have registered for the Intermediate exams this year. In Patna district, exams will take place at 84 centres, with almost 74,000 students expected.

To further improve facilities, the administration has introduced model examination centres in each district. Some of these centres have been specially reserved for female candidates, ensuring safety and convenience.

Exam Schedule and Shift Timings

The Bihar Board Class 12 exams will be conducted in two shifts every day:

  • First Shift: 9:30 am to 12:45 pm
  • Second Shift: 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm

Students will be allowed entry one hour before each shift begins. Additionally, the first 15 minutes of every exam session will serve as a “cool-off period” for students to carefully read the question paper.

On the first day, subjects such as Biology and Philosophy will be held in the morning shift, while Economics will take place in the afternoon.

Strict Security Measures in Place

To eliminate cheating and ensure discipline, the Board has enforced several high-level security protocols:

  • Two-level frisking of candidates — once at the main gate and again inside the centre
  • CCTV cameras installed in all examination halls
  • Videography at every centre for transparency
  • One invigilator for every 25 students to maintain close supervision
  • Magistrates deployed at three levels for law and order

Electronic gadgets are not allowed, and only authorised staff may enter the exam rooms.

No Late Entry and Zero Tolerance for Malpractice

The Board has made it clear that latecomers will not be permitted under any circumstances.

  • For the first shift, entry closes at 9:00 am
  • For the second shift, entry closes at 1:30 pm

Students attempting illegal or forcible entry will face expulsion for two years and the filing of an FIR.

Moreover, unauthorised individuals will not be allowed within a 200-metre radius of examination centres to prevent disturbances.

To ensure safety, separate security measures have been implemented for female students. Female security personnel will be deployed at designated centres, especially at model examination locations.

With enhanced surveillance, disciplined entry systems, and a strong law enforcement presence, the Bihar Board is determined to conduct the 2026 Intermediate exams smoothly, fairly, and transparently.

The strict approach reflects the Board’s continued efforts to uphold academic integrity and restore confidence in the examination process.
