After nearly 17 years as global communications director at Valentino, Francesca Nardi will join Balenciaga to work closely with CEO Gianfranco Gianangeli.
Industry reports indicate that Nardi will report directly to Gianangeli, who has led the Kering-owned fashion house since November 2024. This appointment strengthens Balenciaga’s communications leadership as the brand continues to reposition within the luxury sector.
Nardi began her career in 2004 at Burberry as global events director before joining Valentino. At Valentino, she played a key role in shaping global communications strategy and guiding the brand through media and digital transformations in luxury markets.
A graduate of the American School of Milan and The American University of Paris, Nardi offers an international perspective and extensive experience in brand narrative, image positioning, and high-profile fashion communications.
Her appointment comes as the parent company, Kering, recently reported annual revenues of €16.7 billion. While Balenciaga’s individual performance was not disclosed separately, the brand forms part of Kering’s “Other Houses” division, which generated €2.9 billion in revenue.
This timing reflects a broader effort to strengthen brand architecture and communications clarity across the group’s portfolio.
Balenciaga will unveil its Autumn/Winter 2026–2027 womenswear collection on March 7 at Paris Fashion Week. Designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli, this collection marks a significant creative moment for the house.
With a major runway presentation ahead and leadership changes underway, Nardi’s arrival underscores Balenciaga’s commitment to refining its global messaging and strengthening its luxury positioning.
Nardi’s move from Valentino to Balenciaga represents both a personal career milestone and a notable shift within senior fashion communications roles.
