UGC NET June 2024: NTA Announces Re-Exam Schedule

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the revised schedule for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 session. Following allegations of a paper leak, the exam will now be re-conducted between August 21 and September 4 in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates can check the updated schedule on the official UGC NET website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in

Previously, the UGC NET June 2024 exam was held on June 18 in a pen and paper format across two shifts: the first from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the second from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The exam spanned 317 cities nationwide and saw participation from over 900,000 candidates. However, the exam was abruptly canceled the following day due to allegations of paper leakage, necessitating the re-examination.

The UGC NET is a prestigious exam conducted twice annually, serving multiple purposes:

  • Awarding Junior Research Fellowships (JRF)
  • Appointing assistant professors
  • Facilitating admissions to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges

Candidates are advised to visit the NTA websites regularly [ugcnet.nta.ac.in] and [nta.ac.in] for updates. The notification regarding the city of the exam center will be available 10 days before the re-exam.

This re-exam underscores NTA’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and fairness of the UGC NET, ensuring that deserving candidates can pursue their academic and professional goals without compromise.
