How to choose golf shoes

Before parting way with your hard-earned cash, be sure to take a minute and ensure you have factored in the following considerations:

Comfort – with the average round of golf lasting over four hours, the fit and comfort of your new shoes is paramount. Ensure the fit is snug without your toes feeling pinched, and ideally have a good walk around in them first, or even a few swings. Look for a balance of support and comfort to make the most out of your new golf shoes.

Protection – Fundamentally, a golf shoe needs to provide you with sufficient traction and support when swinging. Golf shoes with spikes tend to give better grip/traction out on the golf course with them having soft spikes placed around the outsole and are better when the ground is wet underfoot. Spikeless golf shoes feature small rubber molds on the outsole to aid grip and are perfect for dry and hard course conditions.

Budget – Finally, set yourself a budget. With so many models available, there will always be a pair of golf shoes that represent value for money, no matter how much you are willing to spend. Providing your new shoes, are comfortable, supportive and you like the look of them, you’ll be hot to trot!
