RuneScape developers have significantly revamped the upcoming OSRS Herblore activity based on player feedback. While specific experience rates haven’t been revealed yet, the team acknowledges its importance and will consider it during balancing. The way components are valued will be reordered to reflect player level instead of market price, and the high-tier Torstol herb has been added to the list of usable ingredients.
With the exciting OSRS new update and the revamped OSRS Herblore activity on the horizon, there’s no better time to revisit RuneScape! Therefore, I do recommend getting some cheap OSRS gold, so you don’t have to miss out on important and exciting things to come.
Experience & OSRS Herb Value
While specific XP rates haven’t been revealed yet, the developers acknowledge player requests for this information and will consider it during balancing. The component value list will be reordered based on OSRS Herblore level instead of Grand Exchange value, and Torstol herbs can now be used in the activity.

Gameplay & UI
The following updates have been made to the Gameplay and UI:
- The activity won’t be UI-focused like Giant’s Foundry. The order list will be the only visible UI element, with alternative methods for communicating information being explored (e.g., NPC callouts).
- Unfinished potions can now be used in the “Refiner” (previously the Mill) to create a paste.
- The “Centrifuge” has been renamed to the “Agitator,” and other terminology will be reviewed for a more fantastical feel.

New Reward: Potion of Goading
This OSRS new update brings a brand new and exciting reward, the Potion of Goading. This option allows players to set aggro on nearby non-aggressive enemies, making it a valuable tool for activities like Slayer where specific monsters might not attack sight. The potion itself will be tradeable on the Grand Exchange, requiring a specific herb and a new secondary ingredient earned through the activity for creation. This dual requirement adds another layer of depth to the reward system.
Potion Packs and Reagents Pouch
Another point of player feedback addressed the issue of receiving inappropriate potions from Potion Packs. The system has been reworked so that players will only receive potions they can create based on their Old School RuneScape Herblore level.
The functionality of the Reagents Pouch has also been improved. Players can now use secondary ingredients directly from the pouch while making potions, and the capacity has been increased to hold 30 of each type. However, limitations are planned to prevent the pouch from being exploited in specific high-level content.
Other OSRS Updates
The Pre-pot Device will allow for customizable presets and will be tradeable on release. Potion Storage will be accessible through the bank interface and unavailable to Ultimate Ironmen accounts. The Skilling Outfit has also been adjusted. The full effect of the outfit is now concentrated in the Goggles, while other pieces will be available for purchase for cosmetic purposes only.
The developers are planning a follow-up blog post with more details on balancing, gameplay mechanics, and how rewards will interact with each other. Poll questions have also been added to the news post to gather player input before finalizing the changes. This update highlights Jagex’s commitment to incorporating player feedback and creating a more engaging and rewarding OSRS Herblore activity for the RuneScape community.
