JEE Main 2026 Registration Ends November 27, Students Advised to Apply Early

JEE Main 2026 Registration Ends November 27

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started accepting applications for the JEE Main 2026 January session exam. Students who wish to appear for the engineering entrance exam can now apply online at the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The last date to submit the JEE Main 2026 application form is November 27 (9 pm). Candidates can pay the exam fee through credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI until 11:50 pm on November 27.

Like every year, JEE Main 2026 will be held in two sessions.

  • Session 1: January 1 to 30, 2026
  • Session 2: April 1 to 10, 2026

The exam will be conducted for two papers: Paper 1 for BE/BTech and Paper 2 for BArch/BPharm.

Exam Centres and Options

Candidates can choose up to four exam cities from their current or permanent state. However, the NTA has the right to merge cities with fewer candidates or allot a different centre for administrative reasons.
International applicants must also choose cities based on their current and permanent addresses, with at least one city in India.

Important Instructions for Applicants

In a previous notice (dated September 29), NTA advised students to ensure that their Aadhaar card, UDID card (for persons with disabilities), and category certificates (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) are updated and valid before filling out the form. This step helps prevent errors or disqualification later in the admission process.

Past Trends

JEE Main has consistently seen high participation:

  • 2025: Over 13.1 lakh students registered for the January session and more than 12.5 lakh appeared.
  • 2024: Around 12.2 lakh students registered in January and 11.8 lakh in April.
Participation numbers have steadily increased in recent years, reflecting the exam’s continued popularity among engineering aspirants.
