Galeries Lafayette Names Elsa Haddad Head of Finance, Strategy, and Transformation

Galeries Lafayette CEO Arthur Lemoine continues to shape his leadership team, and the latest move puts Elsa Haddad in a central role. Haddad will become head of finance, strategy, and transformation on December 1, a position that gives her a direct hand in the group’s ongoing overhaul.

Haddad replaces Matthieu Caloni, who recently became CFO and now works alongside Nicolas Houzé. In her new role, she will oversee the company’s key transformation priorities and manage the group’s budget and long term planning. She will report to Lemoine and sit on the executive committee.

Haddad joined the company in 2018 after starting her career at Boston Consulting Group. At Galeries Lafayette, she has held several strategic roles, from project manager in the Strategy and Transformation department to head of expansion and new projects. She later guided digital and expansion efforts at BHV Marais and most recently managed the beauty, home, and leisure product categories.

Lemoine, a fifth generation member of the founding family, took charge of the French department store group this summer and has been assembling his top team since then. Earlier in November, he brought in Harold Israel to lead the group’s specialised activities.

Galeries Lafayette runs 48 stores across France, with 17 directly operated and 31 franchised. Recent changes include the mid November closure of its Marseilles branches and the upcoming December shutdown of the Rosny 2 location. Seven franchised stores operated by SGM are also being converted to the BHV brand. Beyond France, the group has 11 international locations, an e shop, and an outlet store.
