Mytheresa is preparing for a major leadership transition at the start of 2026. Michael Kliger, who has led the company for nearly a decade and helped turn it into one of the most influential luxury e commerce platforms in the world, is stepping down from the CEO role. The company has named Francis Belin as his successor, effective January 1, 2026.
The appointment comes as Mytheresa sharpens its global strategy under its parent company, LuxExperience Group. Kliger will remain closely involved in guiding that broader vision. As CEO of LuxExperience, he now oversees Mytheresa, NET A PORTER, Mr Porter, and YOOX. Belin will report directly to him.
Belin arrives at Mytheresa with a long track record in the luxury sector. He most recently served as President, Asia Pacific at Christie’s, where he also managed the auction house’s global Luxury and Asian Art business. His time at Christie’s was marked by expansion, major acquisitions, and record wins in securing high value art collections. Before Christie’s, Belin held leadership roles at Swarovski and Richemont after starting his career at McKinsey & Company. He graduated from ESSEC and holds a degree in International Management and Psychology from the University of Mannheim.
For LuxExperience, Belin’s appointment is more than a leadership change. It is a statement of intent. His mandate is clear: accelerate Mytheresa’s global expansion and build on the brand’s position as a top tier luxury destination for high net worth customers. He will manage the platform’s senior leadership team across commercial, growth, marketing, buying, fashion ventures, and creative functions, all of whom will continue in their roles.
Kliger praised Belin’s customer focus, global perspective, and consistent performance. He described him as an exceptional leader who fits well with the culture that has defined Mytheresa’s rise. Founded as a boutique in 1987 and launched online in 2006, Mytheresa has become a reference point in digital luxury retail. The platform offers a curated selection of more than 250 brands, focusing on the highest end of the market. Its womenswear, menswear, kidswear, lifestyle, and fine jewelry categories serve a global clientele. In fiscal year 2025, Mytheresa reported GMV of €988.5 million, reflecting steady expansion and strong customer loyalty.
