Hey there! Thanks for having me; it’s a pleasure to chat with you! A little about me: I’m an aspiring actress with a passion for fashion design. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. I’m gearing up to take on the Big Apple this fall as I head to NYC to pursue my Master’s in Fashion. But beyond the glitz and glam, I love spending time with my family; they’re my everything. We love spending time together and traveling together, and their continuous support has been invaluable in my journey.

My journey from musical theater to fashion design is a testament to the power of following your passions. I’ve always loved both, and seeing how the wardrobe and costumes in theater brought characters to life was an influential inspiration. This connection between Fashion and real-life emotions drives my creativity in the fashion world.

Having the creativity from both theater and Fashion helps me create designs because I link the two together, making so many possibilities.

The most important lesson I’ve learned is always remembering who I am. In a highly competitive industry with many skilled designers, I’ve realized that my authenticity is what sets me apart. No two designers are entirely alike, and by embracing my distinctive style and perspective, I can distinguish myself from others.

My journey in the fashion industry has been an exciting whirlwind of unforgettable experiences. Having the opportunity to intern with Natashia Miyazaki in Paris was an absolute dream come true. During my time there, I learned invaluable industry secrets and little tricks that are crucial to making a fashion house thrive—things that I hadn’t learned in school. These real-world experiences as an intern gave me a firsthand glimpse into the industry’s inner workings.

I hold education in high regard and am passionate about learning. My parents instilled in me the belief that knowledge is invaluable and that there is always room for more. I’m thrilled to begin my graduate studies and strongly desire to pursue further education beyond my Master’s program. As a designer, I always strive to give my best, and I hope to showcase my talents in the field of Fashion.
YOUR APPROACH TO FASHION IS OFTEN DESCRIBED AS INNOVATIVE. CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS AND HOW YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FOR YOUR DESIGNS?
My mom, grandma, and aunts introduced me to the world of Fashion; they are my most significant sources of inspiration. I love traveling and exploring different cities and their styles, which is another source of inspiration. I find movie wardrobes and 90s supermodels to be very inspiring. Everyone’s style is a reflection of their personality, their surroundings, and their interests. My style combines everything that has shaped me into who I am today. That’s why I find Fashion and personal style so fascinating!
AS SOMEONE WHO EXCELS IN BOTH THE PERFORMING ARTS AND FASHION DESIGN, HOW DO YOU FIND BALANCE BETWEEN THESE TWO CREATIVE PURSUITS, AND DO YOU SEE ANY OVERLAP BETWEEN THEM IN TERMS OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION?
My passion for Fashion and the performing arts drives me. Balancing these two demanding fields can be challenging, but doing what I genuinely love makes it all worthwhile. Both Fashion and the performing arts allow me to express myself creatively, and I am excited to continue exploring these avenues of art.
LOOKING AHEAD, WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS FOR THE FUTURE OF YOUR CAREER IN BOTH FASHION DESIGN AND THE PERFORMING ARTS? ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR PROJECTS OR COLLABORATIONS YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT?
My aspirations in the fashion industry are quite high. I aim to become a creative director or designer for a major fashion house or to collaborate with one. I dream of designing pieces for the MET Gala. In the performing arts, my goal is to be the lead in a film or television series, as I want to inspire and represent Persians in cinema. These ambitions fuel my drive to push my boundaries and strive for excellence constantly.
WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
I speak English and Farsi fluently, and I’m currently trying to pick up French and Spanish. I enjoy learning languages!
