What travel vaccinations in SG are performed?

People planning to travel to Singapore must be aware that they might comply with travel vaccination requirements before or upon entering the country. Refusal of this requirement means you cannot enter SG at all costs.

Why is travel vaccination important in SG?

The Singaporean Government believes that vaccines can prevent certain serious and deadly infections. These infections are considerably common and can be different from those in other countries. 

When compared to the vaccinated travelers, unvaccinated travelers can become seriously ill once infected. Travel vaccinations can help travelers free themselves upon entering Singapore and keep everyone safe from possible illness.

Yellow fever vaccination certificate

Singapore is free from the illness of yellow fever. All travelers including Singaporean residents are required to get yellow fever vaccine to free from the risk of importation and transmission. The yellow fever vaccine must be taken 6 days before arrival in Singapore. A yellow fever vaccination certificate will be presented to the ICA offer upon arrival in the country.

The requirement is applied to travelers who spend more than half a day in airport transit in countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission. The validation of the International yellow fever vaccination is 10 days after the vaccination, while its validity for the person vaccinated is lifetime. Unvaccinated travelers without a valid yellow fever vaccination certification must be quarantined under IDA for 6 days from departure date. It asked for travelers from countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission.

The quarantine period covers the incubation of yellow fever. Travelers with vaccination certificates that are about to become valid on arrival in SG are required to complete the quarantine. It is because these travelers have not been fully protected against yellow fever during their time in affected countries and have been incubated and infected by the infection.

The quarantine is served at the assigned facility. The non-residents refusing to be quarantined are denied entry in SG.

Pre-departure COVID-19 tests

In April 2020, entry into Singapore is allowed for fully vaccinated travelers. Travelers who are not fully vaccinated must undergo a Stay-Home Notice and on-arrival COVID-19 tests. These two tests are not applicable for fully-vaccinated travelers or children ages 12 and below.

Travelers who were born before 2020 must take any of the COVID-19 tests within 2 days before the departure for SG

  • Antigen Rapid Test
  • Covid-19 PCR Test
