CBSE Allows Supplementary Exam for Students Missing March 15 Exam Due to Holi

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that students who are unable to attend the board exam on March 15, 2025, due to Holi celebrations will be given a chance to take a supplementary exam. This special exam, usually conducted for students participating in national or international sports events, will now also be available for those affected by the festival.

Based on feedback, CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the board has decided to hold the exam as scheduled. However, students who miss it on March 15 will be allowed to write the paper at a later date.

“While Holi is mostly celebrated on March 14, in some places, the celebrations may continue on March 15. To accommodate affected students, CBSE will allow them to appear for the special exam conducted under the board’s policy for students engaged in national or international sports events,” Bhardwaj told PTI.

Exam Rules and Schedule

CBSE has set strict guidelines to maintain the integrity of the exams:

  • Regular students must wear school uniforms.
  • Private candidates should dress in light-coloured clothes.

The Class 10 board exams will continue until March 18, while the Class 12 exams will end on April 4. This year, CBSE has scheduled proper breaks between major subjects to help students manage their studies better.

Students are advised to stay updated with CBSE notifications and plan accordingly for their exams.
