HI, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS KASSANDRA BECERRA IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
Hi! I’m Kassandra, but most people call me Kassy. OR if you’ve known me long enough Baby Kay! I’m 12 years old, competitive and influential hip hop dancer, content creator on Zigazoo, I’ve danced and Choreographed for tons of upcoming new artist, I model, I love trying new things, and meeting people from all over the world. I’m also passionate about inspiring other kids to be confident, kind, and proud of who they are and what they do.
YOU’VE WALKED THE RUNWAY AT LAFW MULTIPLE TIMES ALREADY—WHAT GOES THROUGH YOUR MIND WHEN YOU STEP ONTO THAT STAGE IN FRONT OF A LIVE AUDIENCE?
I focus on my body language. I want to show off my walk and my facial expressions but mainly want to show off the design I’m modeling. I prep for hours in hair & makeup and rehearsal and it all happens so quickly. For me it’s a mix of excitement and nerves.
YOUR ZIGAZOO SHOW “GOOD MORNING WITH KASSY” HAS OVER 140,000 SUBSCRIBERS! WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT CREATING CONTENT, AND HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH IDEAS FOR YOUR EPISODES?
I’ve been with Zigazoo since they launched! I pull inspo from everyday life. I create trends, dance challenges, fit checks, grwm, and spread positivity.
YOU’VE DANCED FOR AMAZING ARTISTS AND PROJECTS, LIKE HIPHOPDREAMZ. WHAT’S BEEN YOUR FAVORITE PERFORMANCE SO FAR, AND WHY DID IT STAND OUT?
I have too many favorite dance moments! But a highlight for me was traveling to New Zealand for WDCC HipHop competition. And being a Co-captain for my junior dance team

AS A PROUD MEMBER OF THE LUISEÑO TRIBE, HOW HAS YOUR HERITAGE SHAPED WHO YOU ARE—BOTH AS A PERFORMER AND AS A PERSON?
I’ve seen a huge rise in Native American influencers, and it makes me proud that I can dance, model, create and spread positivity all well repping my culture and tribe.
YOU’VE BEEN INVOLVED IN SOME INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK, FROM THANKSGIVING DONATIONS TO EARTH DAY EVENTS. WHY IS GIVING BACK SO IMPORTANT TO YOU AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE?
Giving back is something my parents taught me. It makes me feel happy on the inside to spread some joy especially around the holidays!
BULLYING IS AN ISSUE THAT MANY KIDS FACE. AS SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS OUT AGAINST IT, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE GOING THROUGH IT RIGHT NOW?
Bully’s will say to you what they feel about themselves. Always talk about it with someone you know will lift you up
WITH SO MANY TALENTS—FROM MODELING AND DANCING TO CONTENT CREATION AND ACTIVISM—WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST DREAM FOR THE FUTURE, AND HOW ARE YOU WORKING TOWARD IT?
My dream is to dance with chart toppers and travel the world – which I’m kind of already doing! I practice every day – even if I’m just making a TikTok there’s not a day I’m not dancing…

WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
I have 4 siblings, I love painting, I love to tap dance, and I cheer!
ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS/ROLES YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
Yes! I just collabed with Anya Kay for her new music video coming out August 22nd! Follow her on all platforms @anyakay7 I’m also still touring with @ashwingane we have huge show announcements coming! And even though it’s summer, I’m already getting ready for my 4th year dancing in the Hollywood Christmas Parade with The Origin HipHop academy and Hiphopdreamz
