In the Indian startup ecosystem, 26 startups raised over $239 million in funding last week. The funding spree, which occurred from May 6 to 11, included nine growth-stage deals and 15 early-stage deals, according to a report by Entrackr.
Breakdown of the Funding
Growth-Stage Deals
Seven growth-stage startups secured approximately $207.2 million. The microfinance firm Annapurna Finance raised the highest funding amount of $72 million. Other notable deals include:
Battery Smart: A battery tech startup that raised $45 million.
Propelld: An online education loan provider that secured $25 million.
Red.Health: An ambulance service provider that raised $20 million.
Dhaksha: A drone manufacturer for agriculture, defence, and enterprise sectors, which raised $18 million.
Early-Stage Deals
Fifteen early-stage startups collectively raised $32.5 million. Key highlights include:
Celcius Logistics: A domestic aggregator providing end-to-end cold-chain solutions, which topped the list.
Matel: A mobility and energy solutions startup.
OTPless: An authentication and access management platform.
Highperformr.ai: A marketing SaaS platform.
Stupa Sports: A sports tech company.
Two early-stage startups, Duro Green and Trezi, did not disclose the amount they raised.
City-Wise Distribution
Bengaluru-based startups dominated the funding landscape with nine deals, followed by startups in Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bhubaneswar, among others.
Overall Funding in Context
In the previous week, around 24 early and growth-stage startups collectively raised nearly $320 million. The consistent influx of capital into the Indian startup ecosystem underscores the growing investor confidence and the robust entrepreneurial environment in the country.
