The Sparkle World Tour has long been celebrated as a platform that unites the most talented Filipino artists with fans across the globe. Their most recent event, “Sparkle Goes to USA,” held in Anaheim on August 9th, is a shining example of the tour’s mission to bring Filipino entertainment to international audiences. This remarkable concert was the result of a unique collaboration between Sparkle GMA Artist Center, one of the Philippines’ top talent management agencies, and SKY Beverly Hills, a creative studio specializing in fashion and event production. From the moment the first note was sung, it was clear that this night would be etched into the memories of everyone in attendance, as the best of Filipino talent took center stage in a show that was both dazzling and historic.
For over a decade, Sparkle GMA Artist Center has been a leader in the Philippine entertainment industry, managing some of the country’s biggest stars. Their partnership with SKY Beverly Hills, known for its expertise in fashion, styling, and creative development, was a natural fit for an event of this magnitude. The seeds for the “Sparkle Goes to USA” concert series were planted in January 2023, during a private dinner hosted by SKY Beverly Hills in honor of GMA 7’s Ms. Annette Gozon and Sparkle Artist Center Vice President Jot Marcelo. The dinner, held at the historic Yamashiro in Hollywood, was an opportunity for both parties to exchange ideas about the future of the local and international entertainment industries. It was during this gathering that the idea of an international concert series was born, with the goal of connecting Filipino celebrities with Filipino communities in the United States.
Organizing a concert series of this scale was no small feat. The first challenge was securing the availability of the iconic performing artists, who are some of the most sought-after talents in the Philippines. The stellar lineup featured renowned Filipino artists including Alden Richards, Isko Moreno, Boobay, Rayver Cruz, and more. Coordinating the schedules of these high-profile artists to ensure they could all fly to the U.S. and participate in the tour was a logistical challenge in itself. However, despite the long wait for work visas and the complexities involved in preparing the show, the teams at Sparkle GMA Artist Center and SKY Beverly Hills managed to navigate these challenges successfully.
The Anaheim concert was electrifying – filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments, the show left the audience in awe. One of the most memorable highlights was the opening production number, where all the artists took the stage together, much to the delight of fans. The excitement in the air was palpable, and for many in the audience, the show evoked a deep sense of nostalgia for home. Another standout moment was Alden Richards’ serenade, where he performed the official soundtrack of his blockbuster movie Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019). The anticipation for the movie’s sequel, set to be released in November of this year, added to the excitement of the night.
For Filipinos living in the United States, events like these are a reminder of the rich cultural heritage they carry with them, and the joy of connecting with fellow Filipinos through shared experiences. The overall success of “Sparkle Goes to USA” reflects the dedication and passion of everyone involved, from the artists themselves to the production teams behind the scenes at Sparkle GMA Artist Center and SKY Beverly Hills. The collaboration between these two powerhouse organizations bridges the gap between the Philippines and the U.S. through entertainment and a love for Filipino culture. In working with Sparkle GMA Artist Center, SKY Beverly Hills demonstrates their shared vision to create events that resonate with audiences on both sides of the Pacific. The success of the Anaheim concert is just the beginning, as both companies continue to pursue opportunities to bring Filipino talent to the global stage.
