For Samantha Scarborough, entertainment has always been about more than performing. Whether she’s acting, writing music, or stepping into a new character, her greatest hope is to create stories that make people feel seen, understood, and a little less alone.
Originally born in Chicago, Illinois, Samantha now calls Raleigh, North Carolina home after moving several times throughout her childhood. Those experiences helped shape a resilient, adaptable young woman who has found comfort in creativity and purpose through storytelling.
Now 18 years old, Samantha is pursuing a career in acting and music while continuing to develop her skills as a songwriter, performer, and storyteller. Away from the spotlight, she enjoys drawing, spending time with family and friends, golfing, watching movies, and writing songs inspired by life’s experiences. She also dreams of becoming a mother one day and says bringing joy to others has always been one of the most important goals in her life.
Stories That Changed Her Life
Samantha’s love for acting and music began at an early age. Music became her way of expressing emotions that were often difficult to put into words.
“Music has always been one of the biggest ways I express myself,” she says. “It can brighten someone’s day or remind them they aren’t alone.”
That same emotional connection led her toward acting. Growing up, television and movies became more than entertainment, they became a safe place. The characters she watched helped her through difficult moments and introduced her to worlds beyond her own. Today, she hopes to create that same experience for future audiences.

A Defining Experience at iPOP!
Attending iPOP! gave Samantha her first real taste of the professional entertainment industry. After training with NYLA Talent, she embraced the opportunity to learn from working professionals while performing alongside hundreds of talented young artists. One experience stood above the rest. She loved collaborating with the cast, learning the filmmaking process, and experiencing the teamwork that happens behind the camera. Just as meaningful were the friendships she built throughout the week. Meeting performers who shared the same dreams reminded her that success is about encouraging one another as much as competing.
Inspired by Meaningful Performances
When asked who has inspired her most, Samantha immediately mentions Dove Cameron. Growing up, Dove’s performances became a source of comfort during some of the most challenging moments of her life.
“I hope one day I get the opportunity to thank her.”
She also admires actress Malia Baker, whose work she has followed for years and whose career continues to inspire her own journey.
Dreaming Big
If Samantha could choose any role tomorrow, she’d happily step into the world of Descendants, Pretty Little Liars, or a meaningful feature film. Her dream role is to lead a story that audiences genuinely connect with. Whether playing the protagonist in a dramatic feature or becoming part of the Disney family, she hopes every project tells a story that leaves a lasting impact. More than anything, Samantha wants to create characters that audiences remember long after the credits roll.
Music, Creativity and Constant Growth
Acting may be her dream career, but music remains equally important. Samantha has been working hard writing and producing her own original songs while also learning both the ukulele and guitar. She also enjoys golf and tennis, hobbies that provide balance alongside the creative side of her life. For Samantha, creativity doesn’t end with acting. It influences everything she does. Whether writing lyrics, drawing, or imagining new stories, she is always looking for new ways to express herself.

When asked who inspires her most, Samantha doesn’t hesitate.
“My mom.”
She describes her as both strong and compassionate, a woman who has taught her resilience, kindness, and the importance of never giving up. Those lessons continue to guide Samantha every day as she works toward building a career in entertainment.

One piece of advice continues to shape Samantha’s outlook on life.
“We create our own stories.”
