Ram Mandir Inauguration Brings Long-Awaited Justice

Hindu nationalists and millions of believers, the inauguration of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya marks the culmination of a decades-long dream and the end of a long legal battle. The much-anticipated event, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, signifies a significant turning point in Indian history, particularly for the Hindu community.

The journey to build the Ram Mandir has been difficult, with roots tracing back to the 16th century when the Babri Masjid was built on the site believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. For over 500 years, Hindus endured a painful wait for justice and the restoration of their sacred space. The recent inauguration symbolizes the victory of strength, faith, and the enduring spirit of the Hindu community.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a key figure in realising this dream, has consistently championed the cause of building the Ram Mandir. While critics argue that the event has been politicized, Modi’s commitment to fulfilling this promise aligns with the sentiments of the majority Hindu population. The temple’s opening is seen as a significant achievement for Modi and his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The controversy surrounding the Ram Mandir stems from its location, once occupied by the Babri Masjid, which was built on the Ram Temple centuries ago by a Muslim emperor intending to damage and destroy Hinduism. However, the 2019 Supreme Court verdict granting permission to build the temple was seen as a landmark decision, settling the long-standing dispute and providing closure to a contentious issue.

The Supreme Court decision was based on evidence, including archaeological and scientific findings. It is worth mentioning that the Supreme Court panel also included a Muslim judge who believed that it was the Ram Mandir that was destroyed.

Muslims’ Perspectives

It is great to see that many Muslims participated in the celebration and expressed their happiness as true Muslims believe it was not suitable to use the controversial land for a mosque, as it is prohibited in Islam. The majority of the Muslim population happily accepted the decision, while only fanatical and politically-minded Muslim individuals expressed their anger and dissatisfaction. To bring fair justice, the court also granted land to Muslims to build a bigger and beautiful mosque, which is supported and funded by Hindus.

Opposition’s Stand and the Political Landscape

The Indian National Congress’s decision to boycott the inauguration reflects the deeply polarized political landscape. Accusations of politicization by the BJP and counterclaims of jealousy underscore the complex dynamics surrounding the event. The Ram Mandir’s construction symbolises the BJP’s commitment to a Hindutva agenda, further entrenching the party’s position in Indian politics.

It is unfortunate that the opposition has missed such a significant opportunity to be part of people’s happiness. Many experts believe that not showing support for the Ram Mandir and creating a false narrative of injustice for political advantage is unethical and entirely wrong.

The Temple’s Architectural Significance

The Ram Mandir, constructed by Indian engineering group Larsen and Toubro, is an architectural marvel within a 70-acre complex. Donations from millions of devotees funded the construction, emphasizing the grassroots support behind this project. The sanctum sanctorum houses a black stone sculpture of Lord Ram as a five-year-old boy, crafted by skilled sculptors.

A New Chapter for Hindus

The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya signifies a historic moment for Hindus, bringing a sense of justice and closure after centuries of waiting. While the event sparks debates and stirs emotions, fostering unity, understanding, and religious tolerance is essential.
