Matthew Wallace Joins Rhone as New Chief Operating Officer

Rhone Chief Operating Officer Matthew Wallace

Rhone, a U.S. performance apparel brand, has added Matthew Wallace as its new chief operating officer (COO) to strengthen its leadership team.

Based in Connecticut, Rhone is known for its premium activewear and expanding lifestyle collections. Wallace will lead finance, people, supply chain, operations, and technology. He will work to boost efficiency, encourage innovation, and support the brand’s sustainable growth.

Wallace has over 30 years of experience in operations and business development. Before Rhone, he was CEO and cofounder of DXM Inc., a fashion tech startup that helps customers personalize products from design to delivery. He also held leadership roles at Walmart, PVH Corp., and Cerberus Capital, focusing on global operations, business transformation, and digital innovation.

Rhone cofounder and CEO Nate Checketts said the company is excited to welcome Wallace.
“His extensive operational experience and people-first leadership approach align deeply with our mission to inspire progress in all its forms,” Checketts said. “Matthew’s expertise will help position Rhone for long-term, meaningful growth.”

Wallace shared that he has always respected Rhone not just for its high-quality products, but for its focus on mental fitness, community, and progress. “I’m excited to join this exceptional team and help shape the next chapter of Rhone’s growth,” he said.

Wallace holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Ithaca College and has also studied at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. He has taught supply chain management at the Fashion Institute of Technology and served as a guest professor at NC State University.

Rhone was founded in 2014 by brothers Nate and Ben Checketts as a men’s performance brand. Since then, it has expanded into a complete lifestyle label. The brand introduced its first women’s capsule in 2020 and launched a full women’s collection four years later. Rhone is expected to operate 20 retail stores across the U.S. by the end of 2025.

Earlier this year, the company also welcomed two-time NBA Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Jrue Holiday as its newest brand ambassador.

By adding Wallace to the executive team, Rhone hopes to build a stronger foundation as it grows its global community focused on performance, purpose, and well-being.
