The British luxury menswear house Dunhill has named Matthew Ives as its new chief executive officer, effective October 13. He will report to Philippe Fortunato, CEO of Richemont’s fashion and accessories division. Ives brings extensive experience in the luxury sector. For the past three years, he has served as Chief Commercial Officer at De Beers in London.

Before that, he spent over a decade at Richemont, holding senior leadership roles at Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, as well as serving in the CEO’s office. He began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Co.

Dunhill has been led on an interim basis by Andrew Holmes, the brand’s chief operating and financial officer, since early 2024 following the departure of Laurent Malecaze to Chloé.

The heritage menswear brand, under the creative direction of Simon Holloway, has been strengthening its market presence with new store openings and a positive reception for its recent collections. In September, Dunhill expanded into the Middle East with a boutique at Dubai Mall, and a new flagship on Bond Street in London is scheduled for next year.

According to Richemont, Ives’ deep knowledge of both the luxury industry and the group’s operations positions him to guide Dunhill into its next phase of growth.
