India is expected to beat China as a most-populated nation

As per the 2022 publication of the United Nations’ World Population Prospects (WPP), India is presumably to outdo China as the world’s most populous country in 2023. WPP also anticipated the world’s population to reach 8 billion by November 15, 2022, and 8.5 billion by 2030.

More than half the approximated increase between now and 2050 is assumed to be in just eight countries: Egypt, Congo, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines and Tanzania. It is said in a report titled World Population Prospects 2022.

The report also claimed that China is assumed to have a complete decline in its population as early as next year. Interestingly, a Chinese official had previously said that China’s population might reach as early as 2022 as its population of 1.41 billion grew at the slowest speed since the 1950s, as per government data.

Interestingly, an earlier report suggested India would surpass China by 2027, but now it seems that India would leave China behind four years earlier. The most prominent outcome from the report is that the world’s population continues to extend, but the pace has slowed.

The report also added that women and men rates are expected to be equal by 2050 as the ongoing global count of 49.7% women and 50.3% men are likely to be altered. However, it would be exciting to see if what the report says becomes true and India becomes the most populous nation in the world.
