The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has announced a strategic partnership between its Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI) and Switzerland-based Roche Diagnostics, a global leader in in-vitro diagnostics and digital health solutions. This collaboration aims to advance research in analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the healthcare industry.
As part of the partnership, Roche has joined CeRAI as a Gold Consortium Member, following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two organizations. Roche will actively contribute to policy discussions, research initiatives, and the development of whitepapers focused on ethical and responsible AI in healthcare.
The partnership was officially launched at the IITM-CeRAI Roche Symposium on Responsible AI in Healthcare, held at IIT Madras. The collaboration seeks to develop ethical AI frameworks, establish accountability standards, and ensure AI innovations in healthcare remain responsible, equitable, and beneficial to all.
CeRAI, a virtual interdisciplinary research center at IIT Madras, is dedicated to creating guidelines and policies that make deployable AI models more accountable, explainable, and responsible. By joining forces with Roche, CeRAI aims to shape the future of AI-driven healthcare solutions while ensuring compliance with ethical standards.
This initiative underscores the growing importance of responsible AI in medical diagnostics and patient care, with Roche leveraging its expertise to drive innovative, transparent, and ethical AI applications in healthcare.
