HELLO ALONDRA SOPHIE CONTRERAS, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! WHAT GOT YOU INTO ENTERTAINMENT THAT MADE YOU REALIZE THAT IT WAS YOUR CHOSEN PATH?
I love making people smile and feel things when I perform. Whether I’m acting in a play or playing piano, I feel excited and brave. That’s when I knew I wanted to keep doing it.
WHAT KIND OF TRAINING HAVE YOU RECEIVED SO FAR AHEAD OF IPOP!?
I’ve been training in acting, improvisation, and monologue workshops with amazing coaches like Robert Vito and Connor Weil. I also take piano lessons and practice public speaking.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE ROLES / CHARACTERS YOU’VE BEEN INVOLVED IN?
One of my favorites was performing in Candy Land, which was a fun gymnastics showcase! I got to combine movement, rhythm, and creativity while performing in a colorful, playful theme. I also loved delivering my kindergarten graduation speech—it felt like a special role just for me.

WHAT ACCENTS AND DIALECTS CAN YOU DO (IF ANY)?
Right now, I speak clearly and confidently in American English and Spanish. I can naturally use both Mexican and Guatemalan Spanish accents, and I’m starting to explore other fun voices and accents in my acting classes to bring different characters to life!
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE PROJECTS THAT YOU TYPICALLY PREFER?
I love stage performances because you can feel the audience right there with you, but I’m excited to try more on-camera work too. I like fun stories with imagination, adventure, or kindness.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR AN AUDITION?
I practice with my mommy or my coach, make sure I understand the story, and then I smile, breathe, and have fun with it!
HAS THERE BEEN ONE PARTICULAR MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE SO FAR THAT YOU’RE MOST PROUD OF?
Yes! I was really proud when I received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for sending cheerful art to people who needed smiles. It made my heart happy.
WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES GROWING UP THAT HELPED TO MOLD YOU INTO WHO YOU ARE TODAY?
My mommy, my coaches, and my teachers. They help me learn and believe in myself every day.
IF YOU HAD ONE MESSAGE TO GIVE TO YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Be brave, stay kind, and never stop dreaming.
IF YOU WEREN’T A PASSIONATE ACTOR, WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU BE DOING?
I’d probably be helping animals, planting a garden, or maybe writing books with drawings!
WHAT IS ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
Curious.
WHAT IS ONE FOOD YOU WILL NEVER EAT?
Escargot! I tried it once when visiting Paris and didn’t like it at all.
DO YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS OR INSTRUMENTS, IF SO WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE?
Yes! I do gymnastics, horseback riding, ice skating, and I play piano. Piano is my favorite because I love music.
WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM JOB BE?
My dream job would be to act on a live-action Disney TV show, where I get to play a fun character and make people smile. I also love modeling, so doing print ads or walking the runway would be amazing too!
FOR FUN! IF YOU WENT BACK TO THE GOLDEN ERA OF HOLLYWOOD, WHICH ACTOR DO YOU RESONATE WITH MOST AND WHY?
Maybe Shirley Temple—because she sang, danced, acted, and always had a big smile. I think we’d be friends.
WHAT IS YOUR THING TO DO WITH YOUR FRIENDS?
I love building Legos, playing outside, flying kites, or going to Disneyland with my friends.
HAVE YOU SET ANY 2025 PROFESSIONAL GOALS TO ACHIEVE?
Yes! I want to book my first on-camera commercial, learn a new monologue, and perform in a big stage production.
WHAT DID YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT ATTENDING IPOP!?
Meeting new friends, learning from real coaches, and getting to perform with confidence!
