At just 13 years old, Gemma Mauch is already embracing every opportunity to grow as a performer. An incoming eighth grader from California’s Bay Area, Gemma is an aspiring actress, singer, dancer, and model whose passion for entertaining audiences began long before she stepped onto the iPOP! stage. This week, she’s taking another exciting step toward her Hollywood dreams by showcasing her talents, meeting industry professionals, and building lifelong friendships at iPOP!.
Away from the spotlight, Gemma is just as energetic and adventurous. She loves traveling with her family, spending time outdoors, and caring for her many animals, including two dogs, a Persian cat, and a coop full of chickens. Whether she’s exploring London, wandering through New York City, or discovering somewhere new, Gemma enjoys experiences that inspire her creativity and curiosity about the world.
A Passion That Started with Disney
Like many young performers, Gemma’s journey began with Disney. Growing up surrounded by Disney movies, she fell in love with storytelling, music, and the excitement of performing. By the age of three, she was already carrying a microphone around the house, happily singing Santa Claus Is Coming to Town for anyone who would listen.
From that moment on, performing never felt like a phase, it became part of who she is.
Whether singing, dancing, or acting, Gemma discovered that being on stage gave her the opportunity to express herself while bringing joy to others.
Taking the Leap to iPOP!
Gemma’s path to iPOP! began through her training with NYLA Talent, where she was invited to attend after demonstrating both talent and dedication. After watching videos from previous iPOP! events, she knew she wanted to experience it for herself. Now that she’s here, the week has exceeded her expectations. Meeting agents and managers, performing in front of audiences, and connecting with other young artists has only strengthened her desire to pursue entertainment professionally.
Perhaps even more meaningful has been the friendships she’s formed with fellow performers who share the same passion for acting, music, and creativity.
Building a Well-Rounded Performer
Gemma believes that becoming a great performer means constantly learning. She currently takes weekly voice lessons, guitar lessons, hip-hop dance classes, and on-camera acting classes in San Francisco. She also performs in her middle school’s theatre productions, giving her valuable experience on stage while continuing to develop her confidence in front of an audience. Beyond performing, Gemma enjoys reading fantasy and romance novels, spending time with friends, and continually exploring new creative outlets. She has recently begun learning guitar and writing her own songs, an exciting new chapter that allows her to combine storytelling with music while developing her own artistic voice. Her background extends beyond the performing arts as well.
Over the years she has participated in Taekwondo, soccer, and horseback riding, experiences that have helped build discipline, resilience, and confidence.
Dreaming Bigger
While Gemma would happily embrace opportunities in acting, singing, dancing, or modeling, one dream stands above the rest. She would love to appear in a movie musical where she can combine all three of her greatest passions into one project.
She’s equally interested in both print and runway modeling and looks forward to exploring every avenue the entertainment industry has to offer. If Hollywood called tomorrow, she says she would immediately choose a film where she can showcase her talents through acting, singing, and dancing while telling meaningful stories that audiences remember.
Inspired by Family
Although Gemma greatly admires singer and actress Freya Skye, whom she has followed through concerts and VIP experiences, one of her greatest inspirations is much closer to home.
Her older sister, Sveva, has always been someone she looks up to for advice, encouragement, and guidance.
Surrounded by supportive family and friends, Gemma credits the people closest to her with helping shape the person she is becoming. Their encouragement reminds her to stay focused while continuing to enjoy every step of the journey.
Living with Purpose
When asked what advice she would give another young performer, Gemma’s answer reflects the mindset she brings to her own career.
“If you have a dream, keep going, keep trying, and have confidence in yourself.”
Her personal philosophy is equally uplifting.
“Never give up. Follow your dreams. Find joy in every day and surround yourself with kind people.”
It’s advice that continues to guide her both on stage and in everyday life. When describing herself, three words immediately come to mind: Empathetic. Devoted. Compassionate.
Those qualities are perhaps best reflected in what she hopes people remember most after meeting her. More than anything, Gemma wants to have a positive impact on others.
Looking Toward the Future
Over the next year, Gemma hopes to secure representation, begin booking professional opportunities, and continue expanding her experience as an actress, singer, dancer, and model.
She dreams of appearing in projects where she can combine all of her talents while continuing to grow as both an artist and storyteller.
Beyond her own career, Gemma hopes to become involved with charitable organizations, particularly those dedicated to animal welfare—a cause that reflects her lifelong love of animals.
But perhaps the goal that matters most isn’t about booking roles at all.
Gemma wants to become the kind of performer who encourages other young people to believe in themselves. She hopes to be a positive role model, using her performances, her music, and her experiences to inspire confidence in others.
As she simply puts it: “I want to use my voice to help other people find theirs.”
It’s a powerful ambition that reflects the young artist she is becoming.
As her journey continues beyond iPOP!, Gemma remains focused on learning, growing, and embracing every opportunity that comes her way.
