Canadian lifestyle retailer Roots has announced the appointment of Rosie Pouzar as its new chief commercial officer, expanding her leadership role after serving as head of omnichannel growth.
This move marks an important step in Roots’ growth plan. As chief commercial officer, Pouzar will focus on refining company priorities, accelerating decision-making, and identifying new ways to grow both retail and digital channels.
Before joining Roots in April 2025, Pouzar held senior leadership roles at Sephora Canada, where she served as senior vice president of retail and chief operating officer. During her tenure, she helped scale the business through a significant growth period, strengthening operational execution and driving performance across the organization. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions at Cineplex and began her professional journey at PwC.
Meghan Roach, president and CEO of Roots, described Pouzar as a highly respected leader with a strong track record of delivering results and strategic clarity. According to Roach, Pouzar’s expanded role will help refine the company’s commercial priorities and unlock new areas of growth.
Pouzar brings what Roots calls a rare blend of commercial rigor and brand sensibility. Her approach combines data-driven decision-making with customer-focused thinking and storytelling — an alignment that reflects Roots’ heritage as both a retail business and a lifestyle brand.
“I am honoured to support this iconic brand in our next phase of growth,” Pouzar said in a statement. She emphasized Roots’ strong foundation and expressed excitement about strengthening its commercial capabilities while deepening its connection with loyal customers.
Founded in Toronto, Roots operates more than 100 corporate retail stores across Canada, as well as two U.S. locations in Michigan and Utah. The company also maintains a strong e-commerce presence through roots.com and operates more than 100 partner-run stores across Asia, including a dedicated storefront on Tmall in China.
With Pouzar stepping into the chief commercial officer role, Roots appears poised to build on its heritage while positioning itself for sustained, long-term growth in an increasingly competitive global retail landscape.
