Acne Studios has announced Brune Buonomano as its new Global Chief Marketing Officer. She will officially start on May 5 and will join the company’s global leadership team and executive committee. Buonomano will report directly to CEO Mattias Magnusson and will work closely with Jonny Johansson, the brand’s co-founder and creative director.
Buonomano takes over from Isabella Burley, who left the Swedish fashion label in March. She brings 18 years of experience in advertising and communications. Before joining Acne Studios, Buonomano worked as Executive Vice President at the global communications agency Mazarine Group. She also spent 14 years at the Havas Group, where she rose to become Co-CEO of BETC Etoile Rouge and co-founder of Mastermind Magazine.
Acne Studios said Buonomano will use her international brand-building expertise to help shape the brand’s future strategy. Her responsibilities will include leading marketing and communications worldwide, managing brand image and public relations, and organizing events globally.
She has led projects for major brands like Chanel, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Lanvin, Rabanne, and LVMH. Her appointment is when Acne Studios aims to grow to €500 million in annual sales.
CEO Mattias Magnusson shared his excitement, saying Buonomano brings “tremendous experience” and joins at a very important time for the brand. He believes she will play a key role in taking Acne Studios to the next level and strengthening its voice in the world of global fashion.
Buonomano studied Communication and Marketing at Sciences Po and also attended the University of California, Berkeley.
