Big Bull of Dalal Street, Billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala Dies at 62

On Sunday morning, billionaire business tycoon, a stock trader and investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away at the age of 62. According to the sources, he was brought dead to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at 6.45 am.

The ace stock market investor was also the co-founder of Akasa Air, India’s latest airline, which started commercial operations last week. He had been suffering from several health issues and was released from the same hospital a few weeks ago after being treated for kidney-related issues.

According to Forbes, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, famously known as the Big Bull of Dalal Stress, was assumed to have a net worth of around $5.8 billion. Jhunjhunwala was the 36th richest billionaire in India. The veteran investor is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

“Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was indomitable. Full of life, witty and insightful, he leaves behind an indelible contribution to the financial world. He was also very passionate about India’s progress. His passing away is saddening. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and gave his condolences.

Over the years, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has successfully invested in Titan, Sesa Goa, NCC, Aurobindo Pharma, Praj Industries and CRISIL. He has always been a risk taker in stocks and gained interest in the market after listening about it from his father.
