BC Jindal Group has named Sanjay Bhargava as the new Chief Executive Officer of Jindal India Power Limited. His appointment strengthens the leadership team in the power business division.
As CEO, Bhargava will work to improve operational efficiency and boost performance at the company’s 1,200 MW thermal power plant in Odisha, which has two 600 MW units. Since its commissioning in 2015, the plant’s Plant Load Factor (PLF) has steadily increased.
Bhargava has over 35 years of industry experience across power plant operations, maintenance, sales strategy, regulatory affairs, and business development. Before joining Jindal India Power, he worked at top companies such as Tata Power.
A spokesperson for the BC Jindal Group welcomed the appointment, stating that Bhargava’s extensive expertise and leadership experience would contribute significantly to the company’s continued growth and operational excellence.
Commenting on his new role, Bhargava said he looks forward to working closely with the team to further strengthen the facility’s performance and support sustainable growth initiatives. He also thanked the leadership at BC Jindal Group for the opportunity.
Jindal India Power has built a strong presence in India’s power sector through several Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with state DISCOMs and customers in regions like Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, and Noida. These agreements include short-term, medium-term, and long-term power supply.
