Authentic Brands Group, a major name in global brand development and licensing, has announced Tim Derner as its new Global Head of Marketplaces. Tim brings over 10 years of experience from Amazon, where he most recently led the Fashion and Luxury Stores division.
During his tenure at Amazon, Tim played a pivotal role in transforming Amazon Fashion into the world’s largest fashion retailer. In his new role at Authentic, Tim will focus on expanding the company’s global distribution strategy. He will focus on strengthening partnerships, enhancing brand visibility, and enhancing performance across online platforms. Tim will report to Authentic’s President, Matt Maddox, and will also collaborate with Chief Digital Officer Adam Kronengold and Global President of Sports & Lifestyle, Jarrod Weber.
Matt Maddox shared that “marketplaces are a critical engine for long-term brand growth,” and praised Tim’s strong track record in building digital teams and scaling marketplace success. He believes this appointment is a major step in making online marketplaces a key part of Authentic’s global strategy.
Tim, now based in New York, officially started his new role on June 2. He expressed his excitement, saying, “Authentic has an amazing portfolio, and we have a huge opportunity to rethink how big brands can shine in global marketplaces. We’re just getting started, and I’m excited to lead the way.”
