Amber Manning, a 27-year-old model and advocate, is on a powerful mission to change the face of fashion—one that better includes people with disabilities and diverse backgrounds. As the founder of LIM Modelling Network, Amber is using her voice and platform to push for true inclusivity in an industry that often overlooks difference.
Amber launched LIM Modelling Network in November 2021 as a digital fashion platform focused on representing models who are rarely seen or heard. What makes her work even more impactful is that Amber herself lives with long-term, complex health conditions, including a brain tumor in her pituitary gland—diagnosed in 2019—and a diagnosis of pre-cervical cancer cells around the same time. Despite the toll this has taken on her mobility, speech, and cognitive abilities, Amber has continued to shine and support others on similar journeys.
“I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of building a career in fashion while navigating disabilities and ethnic diversity,” Amber shares.
Her work through LIM has already made a global impact. Over 73 publications have featured her and her network—including MSN News, Daily Record, Voyage Miami, The Hype (LA), and more. What’s remarkable is that these achievements have been earned without the support of a major modeling agency—proving that passion, purpose, and persistence can break down even the toughest barriers.
Amber’s story also challenges how the fashion industry still views beauty and creativity.
“In today’s fashion industry, is being creatively different truly accepted—or still a myth?” she asks.
She has faced exclusion, tokenism, and doubt based on how she looks or the health conditions she manages. Yet, she’s remained unstoppable, competing in major pageants like Miss Galaxy and Miss Diamond UK & Ireland, and continuing to represent those often left out of mainstream fashion.
Through LIM Modelling Network, Amber is not only raising awareness—she’s creating real opportunities for others. The platform provides visibility and a sense of belonging for models with disabilities and those from underrepresented communities.
“We’re committed to building long-term, sustainable change,” she says. “But the industry still needs more understanding, real allyship, and meaningful action.”
