Dolce & Gabbana Appoints Maria Cristina Lomanto as General Manager Europe

Dolce & Gabbana has named Maria Cristina Lomanto as General Manager Europe. This move is part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to update its leadership team after recent executive changes.

This appointment follows Dolce & Gabbana’s recent decision to name Stefano Cantino as co-CEO with Alfonso Dolce. Together, these changes show a wider restructuring of the company’s top management.

Maria Cristina Lomanto is regarded as one of the most respected executives in the international luxury and fashion industry, bringing more than two decades of experience across retail, merchandising, and global brand strategy.

Lomanto graduated in law from the University of Milan. She started her career at Jil Sander, then moved to Yves Saint Laurent as head of sales for Italy and Switzerland. In 2006, she joined the Prada Group and took on increasingly senior leadership roles.

In 2015, she became managing director of Miu Miu, Prada Group’s label for younger luxury consumers. From 2019 to 2022, she served as CEO of Roger Vivier.

Most recently, Lomanto held key leadership roles at Gucci. She joined the brand in 2022 as brand general manager, then was promoted to EMEA president in June 2025.

Her move to Dolce & Gabbana marks another significant leadership shift in the luxury fashion sector, as major brands continue to strengthen their executive teams to navigate changing global markets and evolving consumer demands.

With Maria Cristina Lomanto now leading the European business operations, Dolce & Gabbana appears focused on reinforcing its retail strategy and accelerating growth across key luxury markets in the region.
