Luxury giant LVMH has named Philippe Farnier as the new deputy CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and the LVMH Beauty Division, effective immediately. He will report directly to Véronique Courtois, chairman and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and the LVMH Beauty Division. In this role, Farnier will collaborate with her on key strategic decisions and manage commercial operations throughout the division.
According to LVMH, Farnier will also play a key role in transforming the division by working closely with its many maisons. His mission will be to build stronger connections among brands, improve collaboration, and enhance competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic beauty market.
The company believes his leadership and global industry experience will strengthen the division’s position as a leader in luxury beauty and support future growth.
Véronique Courtois welcomed the appointment and expressed strong confidence in Farnier’s leadership.
She described him as an experienced executive with deep industry knowledge and international strategic expertise. Courtois also said his leadership will help the organisation build on the talents within its maisons and speed up the company’s long-term growth.
LVMH Group managing director Stéphane Bianchi also praised the appointment, noting that Farnier’s understanding of global luxury markets and experience leading major transformations will help drive innovation and excellence within the beauty sector.
Farnier has over thirty years of experience in the global luxury and consumer industries.
He began his career in 1990 with management roles at Mondelez and Heineken, then moved into the beauty industry in 2003, joining Yves Saint Laurent Beauté as France’s general manager.
His journey with LVMH began in 2008 when he became general manager of Parfums Christian Dior France. Over the years, he held several key roles, including general manager for travel retail in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as global marketing.
In 2015, Farnier joined Rémy Cointreau as president and CEO for the Americas. By 2018, he was CEO of Rémy Martin and also led the group’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
He returned to LVMH in April 2022 and has since served on the executive committee at Parfums Christian Dior, where he oversees global commercial activities.
LVMH is the world’s largest luxury group and owns an extensive portfolio of renowned brands across fashion, jewellery, and beauty. These include names such as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Fendi, Celine, Kenzo, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Guerlain, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Marc Jacobs, TAG Heuer, Sephora, and Loro Piana, among many others.
With Farnier taking on the deputy CEO role, the company plans to strengthen collaboration across its beauty brands and continue growing its influence in the global luxury market.
As the beauty industry grows more competitive and digital, leadership choices like this are key to shaping the future of luxury beauty. LVMH believes Farnier’s experience and vision will help the division continue to evolve while preserving the creativity and excellence that define its maisons.
