Behind the Scenes with Bobby Najjar: A Multimedia Artist

Bobby Najjar is an actor, writer and director from Montreal, Canada. From performing in theatre in elementary school to writing and directing his own short films in middle and high school, Bobby delved into the world of entertainment from a young age and he has no plans to stop. He has acquired several skills in cinematography, including learning to be proficient in editing softwares such as Adobe Premiere Pro and expanding his knowledge on cinematography in order to complete his films.

Bobby studied Film Studies for a year at Concordia University. During that time, he learned about the intricacies of what makes a strong film and the elements needed to create superior movies. After deciding to transfer colleges in order to be closer to the industry, Bobby attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) where he studied theatre for two years in New York and acting and movie making for two years in Los Angeles. During his time in school, he collaborated with several people in the acting and behind the scenes domains on multiple projects.

Now graduated, Bobby is using what he’s learned in his free time and in college to create more professional films by continuing to collaborate with the connections he’s made in school as well as working with new people. The skills and knowledge he obtained in his training has allowed him to be involved in multiple areas of the filmmaking process including the pre-production, filming, and post production phases. At this time, he is currently working on multiple short films in which he is writing, acting, directing, and editing himself. He plans to submit his short films to film festivals in order to promote his work and make new connections, which he hopes will allow him to be involved in further projects with experts in the field.

The current film he is working on, “Almost Human”, takes place 80 years into the future and tells the story of a man named Alan who breaks up with his android girlfriend to look for a more human connection. This project is a new challenge for Bobby, as he is managing more people and aspects of movie-making compared to his previous efforts. He enjoys the challenge and sees it as a good introduction to future experiences on professional film sets in Hollywood. He is already working on his next film as well, which is about a post-apocalyptic world where a man revisits his sister’s apartment and deals with survivor’s guilt that triggers his paranoia. Both films were written and directed by Bobby and he also stars in both.

Moving forward, Bobby aspires to work with more established studios such as A24, Blumhouse, and Warner Bros. or Universal. Bobby is filled with drive and creativity, always thinking about new projects and ideas. Bobby has acquired many tools and has shown immense potential in his past works, but he always strives to gain further knowledge and experiences to improve his craft. He invites anyone interested in working with him to reach out to him and talk about any possible collaborations for future projects.
