Fashion major Bestseller has announced Sumit Dhingra’s appointment as India’s country director, effective June 1, 2025. Dhingra will take over from Vineet Gautam, who stepped down from the role last year.
In his new position, Dhingra will drive the growth and expansion of Bestseller’s portfolio of brands, including Jack & Jones, Vero Moda, Only, and Selected Homme, among others, across the Indian market.
Commenting on the appointment, Anders Holch Povlsen, CEO of Bestseller, expressed confidence in Dhingra’s ability to lead the company’s India operations. “Sumit has strong experience in the fashion industry and a leadership approach that aligns well with Bestseller and our goals in India. We remain focused on growing our business in this market, and I’m confident that, together with the team, Sumit will help drive that growth. India is an incredibly important market for us, and we deeply appreciate the trust and support of our customers here.”
Dhingra, who brings over two decades of experience in the fashion and lifestyle industry, has held leadership roles across both global and Indian fashion brands. Speaking about his new role, he stated, “Bestseller has firmly established itself as a prominent player in the Indian fashion landscape, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to its next phase of growth. I look forward to collaborating with the team to deliver excellence in the Indian market.”
With Dhingra’s appointment, Bestseller aims to further strengthen its presence in India and accelerate its growth in one of the world’s fastest-growing fashion markets.
