Slovak Republic Scholarships 2026 to 27 Open for Indian Students, Apply by May 25

The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in New Delhi has announced government scholarships for Indian students for the 2026–27 academic year. These scholarships are part of Slovakia’s Medium Term Development Cooperation Strategy for 2025–30. The goal is to help students study at recognised Slovak institutions, especially at the bachelor’s and master’s levels.

According to the official notification, interested students can apply through the Slovak government’s online portal. Applications are open now and will be accepted until May 25, 2026. To qualify, students must have at least 80 percent marks in their previous studies, which is an important selection factor.

The scholarships are available across public universities in Slovakia and cover multiple levels of higher education. For bachelor’s and master’s programmes, applicants must be between 18 and 26 years of age. For doctoral programmes, the age requirement is slightly higher, with candidates expected to be between 23 and 35 years old. These criteria ensure that the program targets students at the appropriate stage of their academic journey.

The application process is organised and needs careful attention. First, candidates register on the official portal and receive login details to finish their application. All required documents must be uploaded, since incomplete applications are not considered. Being accurate and thorough is important when applying.

Applicants need to submit several documents, such as academic transcripts, proof of their highest qualification, and a copy of their valid passport. They also need to provide recommendation letters, a signed CV, and a motivational letter explaining their academic goals. Doctoral applicants must also include details of their published work, showing the advanced level of study required.

Some applicants, especially those who know the Slovak language and have started the admission process, need to include an acceptance letter from a Slovak public university. They must also submit a birth certificate translated into an accepted language and a recent photograph.

This scholarship program shows Slovakia’s commitment to international academic cooperation and development. It gives Indian students a chance to study in Europe with financial and institutional support. Since there is a clear deadline, students should prepare their applications early to avoid last-minute problems and make sure everything is complete.
