Shakira, the Colombian pop star, has given fans a first look at the 2026 FIFA World Cup song, “Dai Dai,” which features Nigerian Afrobeats artist Burna Boy. She posted a one-minute preview on social media, confirming it as the official song for the next World Cup.
The teaser was shot at Brazil’s Maracanã Stadium, where Shakira recently held a free concert in Rio de Janeiro. In the video, she holds the official World Cup ball, the “Trionda,” and performs with Burna Boy as dancers in national team colors fill the field.
The chorus features the line, “Dai, dai, we go, dale, ale, let’s go,” mixing languages and football chants to create a worldwide stadium anthem. The song will be released on May 14, before the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
This marks another major FIFA moment for Shakira, whose 2010 World Cup anthem Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) became one of the most iconic football songs ever released. She also performed during the 2006 and 2014 World Cup tournaments, making her one of the most recognizable artists associated with FIFA events.
For Burna Boy, this collaboration is another step in his rising international music career. The Nigerian singer now joins many other global stars who have been part of FIFA World Cup music.
The teaser has already generated excitement online, with fans praising the combination of Shakira’s global pop energy and Burna Boy’s Afrobeats influence. FIFA also shared the clip across its official social media platforms with the message, “We’re ready!” signaling the start of the tournament’s music rollout.
