Over 26,600 Jobs on Offer at Shantinagar’s Udyoga Mela 2025

26,600 Jobs on Offer at Shantinagar's Udyoga Mela 2025

Bengaluru is set to host a transformative employment event, the ‘Festival of Humanity: Shantinagar Udyoga Mela,’ organized by Shantinagar MLA and Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) Chairman, NA Haris. In collaboration with the Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood Department, this two-day job fair promises a plethora of opportunities for job seekers across the state. Scheduled for January 7 and 8, the event will take place at the Nandan Football Ground, located in Austin Town, Shanthinagar, Bengaluru.

A Digitized Approach to Employment

Thanks to the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC), the event has embraced full digitization for the first time. A dedicated portal, udyogamela.skillconnect.kaushalkar.com, facilitates seamless registration for both employers and candidates. This technological advancement ensures a more efficient and streamlined experience, reflecting the fair’s commitment to modernizing job-seeking processes.

Diverse Job Opportunities

With over 26,624 job openings from 116 companies, the Udyoga Mela offers an extensive range of opportunities. The fair caters to both white-collar and blue-collar job seekers, with 3,995 positions in the former category and 22,584 in the latter. This wide spectrum ensures that candidates with varying skill sets and educational backgrounds can find suitable employment.

Inclusive Employment Initiatives

A standout feature of this year’s Udyoga Mela is its inclusive approach. Special provisions have been made to accommodate differently abled candidates, emphasizing the event’s commitment to equal opportunity employment. Moreover, the absence of participation fees for both job seekers and employers underscores the fair’s accessibility and dedication to supporting all attendees.

Addressing Unemployment Among the Educated Youth

Data from the event indicates a significant number of highly educated applicants, with 555 holding undergraduate degrees, 442 possessing BTech/BE degrees, and 451 with postgraduate qualifications. This highlights a concerning trend of higher unemployment rates among educated youth, a challenge the Udyoga Mela aims to tackle by connecting skilled individuals with potential employers.

A Vision for the Future

NA Haris and KSDC Chairperson Kantha Naik, who inspected the fair’s stalls, have expressed optimism about the event’s potential impact. As of January 5, 1,672 candidates had registered online, reflecting strong interest and the urgent need for such initiatives. By bridging the gap between job seekers and employers, the Udyoga Mela aspires to reduce unemployment and foster economic growth in the region.
