The Palms at Crown in Melbourne tonight will be a glittering beacon of creativity and celebration, as the 2024 International Film Festival of Australia (IFFA) Awards roll out the red carpet for a star-studded evening. The city will host a glamorous gathering of global talent.

The IFFA Awards have become synonymous with excellence in filmmaking, showcasing extraordinary talent from across the world in film. This year, nominees from over 23 countries will vie for top honors in various categories, including Feature Film, Animation, Short Film, Documentary, and Under 18. The awards, which have become an essential fixture in the international film community, highlight both established industry heavyweights and emerging creators whose stories capture the essence of the human experience.

A key moment of the evening will be when Los Angeles-based Australian James Pratt presents the coveted Best International Feature Film Award. The nominations include films like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (directed by Wes Ball), Nicolas Cage’s The Arcadian (Benjamin Brewer)Monkey Man (Jordan Peele),Decoded (Chen Sicheng), The Archies (Zoya Akhtar), and The Dry 2 (Peter Raeburn) all in the running for the honor. The IFFA’s 2024 lineup promises to be a spectacular showcase, featuring contributions from a variety of artists and actors, Australian musician Cody Simpson, who is set to bring his musical talents to the stage. British actress Samantha Coughlan, whose film The Arcadian is nominated this year, will also be in attendance, while emerging talent Louise Child, an actress and model, will present awards throughout the evening.
