The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) provides various scholarships and financial aid to help students continue their studies after Class 10 and Class 12. These programs aim to support deserving students and promote academic success, especially for girls.
One key program is the Single Girl Child (SGC) Merit Scholarship Scheme, which promotes girls’ education and rewards outstanding academic performance.
Students who qualify can apply for this financial support through the scholarship section on the official CBSE website.
CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship
The Single Girl Child Scholarship is for female students who are the only child in their family and have passed the Class 10 board exam in 2025.
To qualify, applicants should be studying in Class 11 at a CBSE-affiliated school. This scheme encourages families to support girls’ education and helps students continue through higher secondary school.
If twins or multiple girls are born at the same time, each girl is still eligible as a single girl child under this scheme.
Scholarship Amount and Duration
Selected students get a monthly scholarship of ₹1,000 to help with academic expenses during Classes 11 and 12.
The scholarship lasts up to two years as long as the student meets the academic requirements. Payments are sent directly to the student’s bank account via ECS or NEFT.
