Skylar is a sassy, sweet 9 year old from New Jersey. She is tenacious, smart, and extremely driven in all aspects of her life. She loves to act, model, and sing! When she’s not busy engaging in the arts, you’ll find her cuddled up with her dog Bella or watching a horror movie with her family. Skylar fell in love with the stage through pageantry in 2023, where she has continued to develop and perfect her skills over the last couple of years. Her hard work paid off as she most recently won the title of Miss East Coast USA Miss New Jersey Jr Miss Supermodel Supreme 2025 and is headed to the national stage this July! Skylar dreams of her name in lights one day but also has big goals of attending Harvard to become an emergency room doctor. She is an old soul who is very empathetic and compassionate towards others as she loves to give back in every way possible. Skylar has created two platforms in the past year to raise awareness for two topics that are very important and personal to her. Band Together Against DV and Assault raises awareness for victims of violence and assault; she makes rubber band bracelets, sells them, and donates the proceeds to shelters in her community. S3-Skylars Smile Stones is her newly created platform where she hand paints positive words and fun images on stones. She places these stones in community gardens to spread kindness and smiles; her goal is to eventually have smile stones in community gardens around the world! Overall, Skylar is one of the kindest and most caring young ladies you can know, and I have no doubt she will do great things in life. Keep an eye out because you’ll definitely be hearing her name again!
HELLO SKYLAR MACDONALD, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! WHAT GOT YOU INTO ENTERTAINMENT THAT MADE YOU REALIZE THAT IT WAS YOUR CHOSEN PATH?
I did my first Pageant with National American Miss in 2023 and chose to add on top model photoshoot competition where I fell in love with being in front of the camera and the Spotlight. From there I tried the Acting competition in 2024 which I won at my state level and realized this is something I was born to do, being on that stage and letting my personality shine!
WHAT KIND OF TRAINING HAVE YOU RECEIVED SO FAR AHEAD OF IPOP!?
I have been working with NYLA Talent for acting in particular with Connor Weil, Robert Vito, and Ryan Pinkston. I have also participated in various workshops and model bootcamps in order to hone my love of performing.
WHAT ACCENTS AND DIALECTS CAN YOU DO?
I enjoy doing a British accent!
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR AN AUDITION?
I take deep breaths to relax my mind and body. And rehearse, rehearse, rehearse whether it’s lines, a song, or Stage patterns, I never stop practicing.
HAS THERE BEEN ONE PARTICULAR MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE SO FAR THAT YOU’RE MOST PROUD OF?
I have three particular moments that I am most proud of so far which would be getting to the Nationals stage and IAM convention as your National All-American Miss Berlin Jr Pre-Teen and as your National Ambassador 2024-2025, winning the title of Miss East Coast USA New Jersey Jr Miss Supermodel Supreme 2025, and of course getting to the IPOP stage!

I would love to be in a horror TV show. That would be awesome!

Audrey Hepburn because I love her minimalist, elegant style especially her suit sets which have been inspiration for several of my own outfits.
WHAT IS YOUR THING TO DO WITH YOUR FRIENDS?
I like to play Roblox, do role play games, make dance videos, create crafts/projects and go swimming.
HAVE YOU SET ANY 2025 PROFESSIONAL GOALS TO ACHIEVE?
My goal is to sign with an agent and manager this year to start getting roles for TV shows, commercials, and movies.
